Attachment–Understanding, Response & Effective Parenting

This workshop explores the multiple layers of attachment, conflicting developmental tasks and the impacts of complex developmental trauma.  Come discuss and explore the unique experiences going on in your home and learn ways to address through effective parenting.  Learn how to guide and support kids who resist parental involvement; skills to expand your awareness and patience.  Role play scenarios will be implemented with parent participation.

PRESENTER: KRISTA NELSON, LICSW, LMFT

Krista has been the Project Coordinator for the Wilder Center’s Attachment and Trauma Training Program in St. Paul since 2001.  The Center’s purpose is to provide training and consultation to professionals and parents working with children with complex trauma histories.  Krista is a licensed family therapist and clinical social worker with 28 years of experience working with children and families going through difficult life transitions.  She is a frequent trainer for parent and children’s mental health conferences and workshops throughout Minnesota.
